CELLS!!
Biology is the study of living things and all living things are made of cells. When studying cells there are certain things in particular that you need to remember.
1. Kinds of Cells - prokaryote vs. eukaryote. plant vs. animal
2. Structure - it is important to know the basic structure and function of the parts of the cell and how they work together.
3. Cell Division - there are two kinds, Mitosis and Meiosis. This is how cells reproduce. You must know the difference between the two and in what kind of cells they happen in. Fortunately, knowing one can really help you with the other.
4. How DNA Controls the Cell - DNA controls the functions of the cells by the proteins that are made by the code that the DNA holds. These two processes of protein synthesis (transcription and translation) are important to knowing how DNA plays such a vital role in the cell and on a grander scale, in us.
